About Gwinnett County Alumnae Chapter (GCAC)

On May 5, 2001, nineteen visionary members of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. came together to discuss establishing a local chapter to target the distinct needs of the Gwinnett County community.  This was the first of numerous informal monthly meetings. At the end of the year more than 90 sorors were involved with the endeavor.  Between 2001 and 2002, the Steering Committee met with the Southern Regional Director and the State Coordinator to discuss creating a chapter.  On March 8, 2003, the Gwinnett County Alumnae Chapter was chartered in Lawrenceville, Georgia with 137 members.

Today more than 500 members uphold the chapter’s dedication to impacting the Gwinnett County Community and continuing the legacy of public service started by our Founders.
